does i7 4790 and asrock fatality z97 supportes gskill tridient 8 gb up to 2400

Solution
Since the ram is the same price go ahead and get it. I would run it at a lower speed and voltage setting, though. I would expect it to have XMP profiles for 1866 and 2133, with lower voltage.

If you do not have the money for a 4790k, then a Z97 board and overly expensive 2400 ram, that runs at too high of voltage, and gives little gains, is not what you should be looking at. Z97 is for overclocking, which the 4790 cannot do. This would be a more sensible use of your money. You get i7 4770 performance for a good deal less.

Now if you already have that CPU and motherboard, then just go with this ram.
