Hello, my brother is looking to build a pc mainly for gaming. He already has a Zalman Z11 plus case and OS. He doesn't need a screen, keyboard/mouse.

Original target was 700 pounds but anywhere around that is fine. :)

Really like an upgradable build.

here is what i would get in that price range.

this will play any game you throw at it at ultra, most games at ultra 1440p

You should definitely overclock the GPU though.

If you really want to game you could upgrade to a gtx 980ti.

If you are just using a 1080p monitor, I recommend the GTX970 instead which allows for a 250GB ssd and some saved money

i know the antec HCG series is rated highly in the tier list but look it up and look at newegg or amazon and it has really bad reviews. I dont think this is a very reliable PSU from what the reviews are saying.

And the 4590 is barely better than the 4460 but it is up to OP whether he wants it.

When one power supply has almost all 5 star and some 4 star, and another has less than 50% 5 star and everyone is complaining about failure then you should be wary and buy the one with better ratings. If it is due to user stupidity then there wouldn't be PSUs with ratings like this.

and that HCG PSU is rated badly on many websites.

Sure if there are only a few reviews then having less than 50% 5 star can always be trusted, but the more reviews it has the more likely it is that those are correct. It is the way statistics work. If you flip a coin 2 times and get 2 heads that is not a big deal, But if you flip it 500 times and get 75% heads that is a miracle of statistics.
