I recently bought an alienware alpha and upgraded the ram/ssd with no problems. However I've run into serious issues trying to upgrade the wireless card. I tried to upgrade from the intel dual band 3160 to the intel dual band ac-7265.

Since the computer was giving me a code 10 error and I couldn't seem to find how to fix it I decided to go BACK to the 3160. However now my signal strength is extremely weak (used to get 4-5 bars, now i get 1-2). I'm not really a computer expert but I can't figure out for the life of me why this is happening. The computer is in the exact same spot.

Is it possible I damaged it? I noticed that I was having trouble connecting the 2 little wires (one is labelled as WLAN and the other AUX). Is it possible one isn't connecting fully and the card is giving me partial strength because of it? Just seems really odd to me because generally these sort of issues are a broken/not broken nature. But it has just gotten a lot weaker and I can't figure it out. Any help you could provide would be appreciated. Thank you

Solution
Try reseating the card or cleaning the "gold teeth" on the card using a clean pencil eraser or isopropyl alcohol lightly applied to a lint free cloth or coffee filter. You may need to uninstall and reinstall your drivers as well.
