Hello. I recently decided that i want to upgrade my computer i'm going to buy a new cpu for gaming. I decided that i will go for cpu intel core i5 4690k which is a pretty decent cpu. Now the thing is that this processor is like 220$ on ebay/amazon while in Slovenia this cpu is around 330$. I want to buy over amazong/ebay because i will save some money. Can someone explain me how does shopping from ebay/amazon works. I also wan't to get a warranty for my processor. I'm really sceptical about it because i think they will scam me but if my processor stops working how can i send the processor back. Will i need to pay so i can send processor back to them. I'm really confused. Please help :/

I've bought (and returned) AMD CPU's (aka breakable pins) over ebay, and the best advice I can give is to contact them before the auction ends with questions on how it'll be shipped. Make sure that the seller has a near perfect rating, and that they hopefully allow returns.

The person I bought an AMD 8350 from decided it'd be fine to just put it in the socket and ship with zero bubble wrap. Returned that (ate $15 in shipping, oh well), contacted another seller, got an 8350 in the original clamshell and tons of bubble. Packaging is key.

Intel CPU's over ebay are at risk mostly of static shocks. No breakable pins, so if it's shipped in bubble with an anti-static bag then it's all good.

I would suggest going with Amazon over ebay. With Amazon you pay for the product then the person selling it will ship it to you. Ive had good luck with buying parts on Amazon. If the CPU ends up not working you will only need to pay for shipping. Sometimes not even that. When you return an Item through Amazon you get a refund on the Item. And some people will even pay for the shipping because of the inconvenience it caused.

And with the warranty thing, if you are buying it new instead of used, you will most likely still have the Intel 3-year warranty.
