I manage a few AirBnb apartments for a client and many of the guests are from overseas and can't use their phones' data plans. As a value-add service, I'd like to provide in each apartment a wireless 4g modem that guests can take around the city so they always have an internet connection.

Would it be possible to cap each modem's data usage to 100mb/day?

Also, would it be possible for me to remotely reset the device's wifi password if I wanted to revoke access?

Your best bet are likely prepaid devices. Something like virgin mobile....which is really sprint. The devices are pretty inexpensive if someone would steal them. You buy time in blocks and when it runs out the device stops and you must buy more. They sell a number of options. There daily plan is like $5 and you get 250m but if you only need a couple days it is a much cheaper option. I think the top plan they sell is 6gb for $55.

This is one I just happen to know the numbers on. Most other providers also have prepaid partners, few if the big providers sell prepaid stuff directly.

It maybe easier to just provide the device and let them buy the time they want.
