as your looking to build a starting gaming rig. if your dead set on amd then dont buy the parts this year if you can hold of for the new amd zen cpu. the zen cpu if it is as good as the leaks have said it going to be a great entry level gaming cpu.

60% you are kidding right, we two had this discussion once before. And i gave you the link to BF3 multiplayer (64) benchmarks that proved that fx-6300 is just a bit better in online gaming. But if you look at the offline i3 destroys fx-6300 in almost every game

Please respond to the things I say and not the things you think I say.
The Fx 6300 is about 60% more powerful than the i3. That doesn't mean it will produce 60% higher frame rates.

And if I remember correctly the multi player benches you linked were run with only one player in the server to ensure repeatability. So not a good real world scenario, but already the FX is ahead

So here is the differente two

There is a 7.5 FPS difference between i3-3240 and FX-6300, i3-3240 is weaker than i3 4160 (http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i3-4160-vs-Intel-Core-i3-3240), so i think there would be 4FPS or less difference between i3 4160 and FX-6300 thats not alot. So i would go with i3 4160 because it beats fx-6300 more than 4fps in most games and most games you play offline

Its hard to tell Intel is better if your doing just gaming, but i think if you record your gameplay,stream or do some video edting... FX would be a better choice.

So i would say they perform about he same, it just depends for what will you use your CPU
