Basically some guy added me over skype, I thought he was someone from my DayZ group and I accepted his request.
Here are the messages - http://gyazo.com/ed448b421a42f1f63a5a86d181c8d9d7
When he said scamming I thought he was someone from CSGO trying to scam me and I was about to see what he had to offer, next I got disconnected for my teamspeak, couldn't use Chrome etc.
I haven't been attacked since then but is there any easy way of protecting my router from things like this in the future?

Solution
The only way protect your IP is to get a Proxxy which you will have to pay for, contact your ISP and ask them to refresh your IP, Don't add random people to Skype that could be "Scammers" if someone gets your Skype they are able to take out your internet connection within minutes, Teamspeak/Vent/Mumble are all fine to use.

Good answer.

Also, since DDOS is a crime, it is important to report this to your ISP. They can track down and try to block the botnet he is using and also report him to the authorities.
