Asrock B85M-ITX Good For Gaming??

Solution
I could be used for gaming, but personally I wouldn't suggest it for that reason. It only has 2 memory/ DIMM slots, and a highest of 1600 Mhz Memory. You would be better off with the motherboards I have further suggested, but that's my opinion :). The MSI Z97-G45 is a good gaming mother, same with the PC MATE, and I would also recommend GIGABYTE's GA-Z97-HD3 motherboard. Mini-itx motherboard aren't the best for gaming, but same pass good. Like ASRock's H97M-ITX/ac.

I do not like small motherboards for gaming. You would be better off getting a regular ATX motherboard instead of ITX. Also try to avoid the B series as they might need a BIOS update depending on the CPU you install. The best mobo advice I can give you is to get a GA-H97-D3H as it is good quality for the price.

B-series(along with Q-series) mobo is targeted for business oriented system and has little difference in gaming features from H-series.
afaik the only notable difference between B and H series is intel Rapid Storage Tech which means B-series has native support for RAID (0,1,5,10 modes) while the H-series might need 3rd party controller for RAID. the other advantage is B-series usually has 4 slot of Ram Socket while H-series has only 2.

so if you dont really care about that feature H-81 or even better H-97 will sometimes be a cheaper option while not affecting gaming performance.

but to answer your question, Asrock B85M-ITX is enough for no-oc gaming rig(especially if you're building a small gaming PC)

B85 is a good choice for budget builds if you want to make sure you still have lots of connectors. H81 boards are a bit cheaper, but harder to find - you only get 2 SATA 6, 2 USB3.0 and two sticks of ram.

Also this board only supports up to 1600 RAM. Something like ASRock Z97E-ITX/ac gives you a bit more for similar price.

I would agree with Ok Go, that motherboard wouldn't be recommended for an OC/Gaming rig.
