So I have settled on starting a new build built on the Intel Pentium G3258 for my parents. They have been using my main build http:// for Facebook and Youtube while I am away at College. It's pretty sad all that power is going to waste so I decided I will be taking that system back with me.

Even though my parents are very tech/computer illiterate, they still want to have a desktop. I plan to build them a low maintenance system out of spare parts I have laying around. I have the case, Ram (Corsair vengeance 1600), Antec 700w PSU, A fresh SSD and HHD, and other supplies.

What I need advice on is a good and cost effective motherboard that can take a good overclock. I have been looking around some, even found a few YouTube videos on a Gigabyte b85m-HD3.. but once checking NewEgg I discovered it has been changed and severally downgraded. I am pretty out of the loop for what is good out there at the moment. I am looking for a board that I can overclock on, has PCI 3.0, easy to use BIOS, that all fits in a price range similar to the Gigabyte listed above.. So $65 and under.

The ultimate use for this build is to a reliable home computer. Capable of browsing the internet and other basic tasks. Word, Itunes, Plex, for a few example programs - So nothing big. On the other hand, when I am visiting I am looking for the capability to throw on a bit of an overclock and plug in my GTX 970 for some games, If I have time for any. Please let me know what Y'all think! Thanks!

Most any board can overclock the G3258. There were a couple of roundups on such boards recently; look for them amidst the motherboards articles.
Note that the silicon lottery will make a big difference on how successful your overclocking will be. I have two G3258 CPUs myself. One is not stable over 4.0GHz, but the other runs fine at 4.2GHz.
