I am going to get a new graphics card(msi gtx 960) so i was wondering as my motherboard has pcie 2.0 slot is there going to be any performance drop as my computer is old too.

AMD Phenom II X6 1055t oc'ed to 3.1 ghz
Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3 1333 Mhz ram (Upgrading to 8GB)
Intex 450w Power Supply
Asus M4A88T-M mobo

first, get rid of the psu regardless of getting a gaming gfx card. get a better quality psu, like seasonic s12ii 520 or s12g series.
after upgrading to a good quality psu, get the gfx card. it should work in your pc as long as you upgrade the psu first.

if adding a second stick of ram doesn't work, get a dual channel kit (2x 4GB set) from asus QVL (memory support list).

Okay Is the power suppy good
cooler master thunder 600 watt psu
another question is my motherboard supports 1066,1333,1866 mhz
will 1600 mhz g skill ripjaws 2x4 gb work

try getting a better one like the ones i mentioned. vs series is still lower quality. you need good quality psu for running a gaming gfx card.
here's the link to your motherboard's memory support list (check the mobo model and revision number with your motherboard)
ASUS M4A88T-M
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A88TM/HelpDesk_QVL/
check the memory's model number in the QVL (qualified vendor list).
you can also check from g.skill's website using the memory kit's model number to find out if it's compatible with your motherboard:
G.SKILL - RAM Configurator
http://www.gskill.com/en/configurator

if you can't buy the psu and the gfx card both, then get the psu first. save up some money and buy the gfx card later.
