Hello! I will really like to overclock the cpu and maybe also the gpu! My pc specs:

Motherboard: MSI Z97 GAMING 5
GPU: MSI GTX 970
CPU: Intel i5 4690k

I just want more performance in gaming and I will like if you could give me some overclock settings examples. (EX: Clock speed.... etc.)

Solution
Okay, it's pretty simple.

Just head into the BIOS, and open the "OC" tab. There, you'll see two relevant options - CPU ratio and CPU Core Voltage. You should probably try setting your Voltage to 1.3V, and then seeing how high you can take the CPU ratio before it crashes. I'd try 40 first, then go up by 1 each time.

I don't have to change any Core Speed? ex: 4000mhz
(Note: I wanna overclock to around 4000mhz

No, the Core speed (or base clock) should stay at 100 for basic overclocking. The only thing you change is the "CPU ratio". This is a ratio that multiplies the base clock, which gives you your final speed. In order to overclock to 4GHz, you have to change the CPU ratio to 40.

In maths: 40 x 100MHz = 4000MHz = 4GHz.

You'd probably destroy your chip if you tried to get it to run at a base clock of 4000MHz :D

It seems that 1.3v dosent work on msi.. when i put it to 1.3v the 1.3v becomes red. I did overclock it to around 4.2ghz and it works very good. This is what I did: i did set the cpu radio to 42, set the radio mode to fixed (you need to enable advance oc) then set the voltage to 1.2v and it works very good. Thanks for help.
