Hello i have a selfbuild computer with the following parts..:

Mobo.............: Asrock 870 extreme3 2.0
Processor......: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition ( i know it supports 1333 MAX )
Memory ........: Kingston HyperX 16 GB DDR3-1866 Kit ( Modelname ..: HX318C10FK2/16 )
Powersuply ..: BeQuiet Power Zone 850 Watt
Graphics.......: Sapphire R9 270x oc 4gb
Harddrive......: Western Digital VelociRaptor 320GB 32MB Cache 6Gb/s <4.2ms 10,000rpm

i hope this is the stuff u guys need.

Ok my problem..:

About 1 week ago, I changed up my Memory from 1333 vallue select to the Kingston HyperX 16 GB DDR3-1866 Kit.
Everything was looking fine, but for some reason my pc suddenly ( after 3 or 4 days ) became very slow, when pressing alt tab from a game to check on Facebook the music stopped for like 1 or 2 seconds and went playing after that short break.
In games i have an fps drop like 10 / 20 fps depending on the game im playing and After effects is glitching like h*ll. I have no clue what this problem is and i have done alot of things that i tought could be wrong.

Things i have done ..:

1..........: Anti virus scan - didnt come up with anything.
2..........: Rootscan with several program's - nothing here eigther.
3..........: Updated all drivers - No results eigther
4..........: Changed the powersuply - Didnt make any difference.
5..........: Check for malware - Nope
6..........: Went to bios, to see if memory wasnt functioning - there i found out it was on 1333 instead of 1866, then i checked and i noticed MOBO could support 1866 ( with ocing which i don't ) and my CPU doesnt support 1866.

7..........: checked Temp's on "OpenHardwareMonitor" and didnt see any temp's that scared me.

the only thing im able to do now ( i think xD ) is change my mobo and my Processor, since i dont think my 8 week old VGA is causing the issue here.

anyone got some godly detail i missed ?

Thnx in advance ( i'm very desperate )

Solution
If at 1333 check the timings (can find in CPU-Z in the memory tab, at 1333 I'd start at 9-9-9-24, if the CPU can handle it might get them to 8-8-8-24 (might need DRAM voltage at 1.55 or so

Legenda in Aeternum
What is the DRAM running at? It may well be at 800, or 1066 if it wasn't set up correctly, if so can set it to 1333 probably. If at 1333 would guess it's set with loose timings. Let us know the model# of the DRAM and we can try optimal settings

The model is ..: Kingston HyperX 16 GB DDR3-1866 Kit ( Modelname ..: HX318C10FK2/16 )

and in my bios it says its running at 1333, i have everything set to "auto" cuz i dont have a lot of experience on oc and settings on memory etc.

thnx for your reply.

Ok this is weird, my bios is showing me 1333 and CPU-Z is showing me something different :O

No idea how it's possible but this is what CPU-Z tells me.

Still no clue how to solve this, tho..

i changed the settings to manual and tried the cas timings u gave me, and changed the voltage but it wont raise :-(

Thnx for your reply's, they are all really appreciated.

not that it will help and but if you look here you 870 is not listed

http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/upgrades?ktc_campaign=US_Branded&gclid=Cj0KEQjw2v2sBRCazKGu3tSFz64BEiQAKIE1hsgfYyvrZYjYQgFarHvhVLYBH_-7Ss9MIFr8Zk_IhN8aAu2m8P8HAQ

also kingston hyperx is known not to be compatible with a few older chipsets, and I cant find it but theres a statement to this from Kingston

if tradesman thinks back he may remember me posting that statement on other threads..

now weather it pertains to your issue ??? you may get that Kingston rep to look at this thread and see how he answers ..

plus as you said that amd cpu anit helping - 1333 is best no matter what amd says on any of there chips [lol]
