Hello all, thank you in advance for any and all help/insights into my issue.
I have a Dell OptiPlex990 MiniTower, and I am trying to have 3 monitors connected to the computer and extend the workspace across all three (no mirroring). The computer currently had a Dell AMD ATI Radeon HD 6670 installed into one of it's two PCIe 2.0 slots. The 6670 has a displayport, vga and dvi ports, if I bought a displayport to hdmi active adapter would I be able to power all three displays or would I need to purchase a new card?
The power supply in the Optiplex 990 is a 250 watt unit so power is a concern if a new card is in fact needed. I did find a VisionTek 900358 Radeon HD 5450 card which is listed as only needing a 250 watt power supply, if I purchased this card would I be able to use the displayport and DVI on the dell amd 6670 and then the HDMI on the VisionTek 5450 to run all three monitors?
