AMD R9 XXX(X) Equivalent of PS4/X-Box One

Unfortunately most games that come out on on consoles and PC are generally crud ports which require more raw power from the PC to overcome the unoptimized game. So be careful with trying to find something equal in power and expecting the same results.

A console has pretty weak CPU/GPU compaired to PC. The difference is that the console game is optimized for that hardware. So a console GPU = to a R9-270 will perform better then the same PC game with a R9-270.

With all of that said a R9-280x is a great price/performance card for just over $200. Pair that with an i5 or even an fx-8320 and you will be well above any console. Should be able to play everything on high at 1080p, non AAA games on ultra.

I agree for all of that except getting a 8320. It is worse than a i3.

Worse then an i3????? By all means please show me your sources to confirm this.
BTW, 1 specific benchmark out of 100 is not proof. You can find one benchmark utilizing a specific technology (that does not matter in real world) to say pretty much any cpu is better then another one.

i would say it compares to the r9 270x as they have pretty close specs, but of course game companies make sure to deliver optimized games to be able to work with this med gaming gpu. I would say for you to go with 280x / gtx960 or 290/ gtx 970

I think games like BF4 and others will like the FX but some others that only use 2 theads like the i3. Minecraft will definatly like the i3 lol cause minecraft uses 1 thread lol
