Good afternoon everyone. Over the past two weeks my computer has been shutting off randomly without being under heavy load. I would be able to turn the pc back on right after and I would get the message "Asus anti-surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply".

A few days ago while using Microsoft Word, the system shut down and I was unable to turn it back on. Today I had the time so I wanted to diagnose the issue. I was able to turn the computer on without doing any tinkering at all.

Here are the specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Nepton 280L
Motherboard: Asus Z97-Pro (Wi-Fi ac)
RAM: Crucial 16 GB (8GB x 2) DDR3
Storage: Samsung 840 Evo 500GB
Western Digital 1 TB
Western Digital 500GB
GPU: EVGA GTX970 SC 4GB ACX 2.0 (Two of these in the system in SLI)
PSU: Corsair HX750i
OS: Windows 8.1

I've never overclocked the system.

I bought and assembled the system in November and, as it was my first build, I'm afraid I've done something disastrously wrong. Up until recently, the system has never given me any problems. Any and all help is appreciated and I apologize if I've said anything stupid. Thanks all!

I don't have another PSU, but I'll borrow one from a friend and just run the computer for a while and see if it shuts down or not. Will keep you guys posted. Thanks Reyaz123!
