I've been getting multiple answer to my questions, but none seems to be giving a definitive answers. So I was hoping that someone here could help me out. Facts to know: my surge protector was shut off ( the on/off switch was set on "off"), the power cable was connected to both the PSU and the surge protector, my PSU switch was set on "on", and my computer was shut off. I'm concerned that I damage my computer by having my shut off computer's PSU on/off switch set on "on" when I turned on the power for my surge protector. Essentially, my question is: would the flow of electricity impact my shut off computer considering the PSU was on the "on" position ?

This shouldn't have any impact on your PC, the on/off button on the surge protector (assuming you have your PC plugged into that) should practically work the same as the on/off button on the PSU of your PC. It shouldn't matter which one you switch on first.

Yes, I did have my PC power cable connected to both my PSU and the surge protector when I turned on the power for my surge protector. So, it shouldn't make a difference ? Thanks
