Just built a system with the following:
ASUS X99-A & i7 5820K
Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO
32GB Rip Jaws DDR4 RAM
eVGA G2 750W PSU

Carry Over from previous:
Crucial M4 128GB SSD
SeaGate 3.0 TB HDD
NVIDIA GTX 660

The build went awesome. Once everything was put in, I did a fresh install on Windows7 64 Pro after wiping the SSD completely and was up and running beautifully. Installed all the drivers that came with the Asus MB, and then went on to install all programs. I used the Asus 5-way optimizer and it boosted the CPU to 4.1Ghz and it was stable.

The next day, the system hung, and the SSD could no longer be detected (tested it on another system… it was dead). It was an older one so I chalked it up to being time for a new one. I turned off any overclocking and reset my BIOS settings to default.

So I picked up a Kingston 240GB SSD, installed it and did another fresh install of Windows7 64 Pro. And everytime I’m getting really weird things:
1) The install of the OS seems to go fine
2) As soon as I install all my chipset/LAN/Audio, etc. drivers straight from the Asus disc, I get random red window popups saying “Windows Cannot verify the publisher of this driver software.” I try to click “allow anyway” but it usually just disappears before I can click it
3) Following each window, the installation continues fine
4) Once each component is installed, it says it was successful, it shows up properly in the device manager, but there is the red x in the taskbar for the network connection and the speaker. Even stranger is that I’ll get full internet access even though it says “no connection available” in the taskbar. This leads to the next strange part
5) So even though it says I have no internet access, I can go to any webpage, however whether I am using Chrome or Internet Explorer, EVERY WEBSITE shows up with the following:
- CHROME: “The Site’s Security Certificate is not trusted”
- IE: “There was a Problem with this website’s Security Certificate”

So obviously something is really messed up and it seems to have something to do with security issues.

I have formatted the SSD 3 times and tried reinstalling yet it keeps happening. On the last install, I ran Malware Bytes to see if there was anything infecting it but it came up clean.

I read that security issues can occur if the system clock is the wrong. Both the BIOS and windows clocks are the same. I even just cleared RTC on my MB by using a jumper to see if that would work (after doing that, I am reinstalling right now to see if it’ll fix).

Any help at all would be GREATLY appreciated.
