I am an avid gamer, but when it comes to fps i have issues, and i think my integrated AMD graphics may be the issue. I currently get around 100 frames on easy to run games such as cs:go, but can't seem to run games like the forest at any more than 20fps. I currently have an AMD Radeon HD 8670D integrated graphics card, and i was wondering if i could upgrade to an actual graphics card, without there being a problem. If i were to do this, how much better would games run? I don't have much advanced knowledge about computers, but i've done quite a bit of research on this topic. My computer is pre-built It is an HP-ENVY 700, and the model number is 700-216. Thank you.

Hi,

I checked a bit on this and your mobo has one PCI E x16 2.0 slot. Most motherboards today has 3.0. But the performance of 2.0 and 3.0 are pretty much the same.

Do you intend to play games like arma and GTA v?

You cpu would bottleneck stronger cards.

Give me your budget and I'll help you to choose a graphic card.

If I were you I'd get a GTX 970 and a 550w or 600w PSU. Or if you want to save money, get a GTX 750ti, or an R9 280x. All will be a good upgrade for you

thank you so much for the help, but if i were to upgrade to a mid tier gpu such as a 750ti, would i still need to uprage my PSU? I currently have a 300w PSU and my cpu only uses around 65w. Again, i don't know too much about computers, but i've done quite a bit of research. Please correct me if i've said anything wrong. If anyone could answer ASAP that would be great.

Hi I would suggest this since you have a budget around 400$

Msi GTX 960 4GB -http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-gtx960gaming4g

Corsair PSU -http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cx500

Net price is lower that 400$
