Hey all, I've recently purchased a new GPU (GTX 660ti 3gb) and put it in my rig, it's running along side an AMD phenom II x2 555 (i know, i know, i'm going to get a new CPU, this is an old build i'm upgrading) and 6gb of RAM (although my pc is telling me only 4gb is use able?).

Anyway, I thought I'd play a few games and see how my new GPU works.... all my games pretty much run the same as they did with my old HD 6870....

Is this because the games (such as BF3, Starbound etc.) require my CPU to be doing a lot as well? I thought I'd notice a fair difference, this new GPU should be running BF3 on ultra at 60 frames.

Any help would be appreciated, cheers. :??:

You'll need to upgrade your CPU for that. It's just a dual-core and especially games like Battlefield profit from a quad-core, which is recommended in any newer game. Your GPU is fine but it's getting bottlenecked by your CPU now.
