m looking to get into fps games on my pc for cs go should i get a hard mat or a soft one advantages and disadvantages please and any recommendations

You have to try for yourself. Maybe you can borrow from a friend and see which one you prefer so you don't waste money on something you don't like.

Something to keep in mind is that many mousepads tend to wear after ~2 years of use, earlier if you don't regularly clean them and the mouse from dust. I had a razer destructor 2 and after 2 years I had to replace it because the mouse didn't work good on it anymore. It became to have some "dots" of dust which could not be cleaned 100%. I replaced it with razer manticor, which is build from a thin sheet of aluminium and bought some mouse pad feets hoping it will last longer.
