Hi all,
I am seriously considering upgrading my computer and would appreciate your help
I am listing my current hardware in case you consider it can be still used for gaming and that I should spare more than 600-700EUR to make a significant difference (see Parts I'm Keeping below).
Thanks in advance!
Approximate Purchase Date: August or September 2015
Budget Range: 600 - 700 EUR
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (Fifa 16 and latest titles)
Are you buying a monitor: No. Got a HP w2207h (1680 x 1050) which I want to keep
Parts to Upgrade: CPU (Core 2 Quad Q6600) , Motherboard (Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R), RAM (6 GB DDR2-800), Video card (Sapphire Radeon HD 6850), HD (Samsung HD103SJ 1 1.000,0 GB, SpinPoint F3, MAESTRO)
Parts I'm Keeping: Monitor, hopefully PSU (Corsair CMPSU-650TX 650-Watt), Case (Lian-Li PC-A08), DVD-ROM, Keyboard, Mouse, Peripherals...
Do you need to buy OS: No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: No preference. Can buy from Amazon.
Location: Madrid, Spain
Parts Preferences: Prefer Intel CPU
Overclocking: Maybe
SLI or Crossfire: No
Your Monitor Resolution: 1680x1050
Additional Comments: I would appreciate advice on going to solid-state HD, maybe using a SSHD for OS and software and a regular one for storage.
Reason for Upgrading: I think it's about time to do a serious upgrade. However, I have the feeling that hardware is not improving as fast as it did years ago. Please feel free to recommend not upgrading if you think I should spend over 800 EUR to get a significant improvement.
Cheers!
