are the temps of my CPU (i7 3820) too high?

Dear community,

My CPU is always on an idle temp of 47 C, but when I render a vegas project it can get up to 86 C, which is way too high, the only solution I found thus far was to disallow vegas to 2 of the cores, but I would like a permanent solution to my problem. I've tried cleaning out the fan and even in turbo it still stays 40 C,

Any solutions?

Is the Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition a suitable candidate?

Things you could possibly do -》

1.Buy any decent Airflow fan and put one at the rear end of the case as exaust.

2.Clean up the dust accumlated in between the fans ect.

3. As suggested by @Dextermat.You can give it a try, remove the heatsink & clean up the old thermal paste with alcohol.Apply new thermal compound on the CPU's die (not much, just a little patch of it in the centre) and then fix the heatsink back on.

4.Make a custom Fan curve profile.

If you have space for it really any reasonable quality 120mm fan will do the job.

I clean dust like every month, so that is probably not a problem, what is nr 4? a custom fan curve profile?
