Hello

I would like to build a computer around my gtx 970
I already have the card but the other parts of my build bottlenecks it
Is it possible to buy parts from 500$ and fully use the power of the gtx 970?
I prefer intel
Gpu monitor and peripherals psu case are not needed
Games: the witcher 3 starcraft 2 (with lots of units)
Resolution:900p
(I live in Hungary 150 000 huf)
I will overclock
I will use it for gaming

Thanks for the help

ive personally not had good experiences with gigabyte motherboards, and have no experience at all with asrock motherboards. i usually stick to asus or msi as ive had good experiences with them

what do you need for it? just cpu, processor and RAM? assuming your current system is able to power the 970 you dont need a power supply unless you wanted to upgrade, would a new case be needed as well?

Instead of trying to build a full new system you should re-use as much of your system as possible.

EDITED: your psu is very good, no worries there.

If you have a decent power supply and can re-use your hard drive and case then all you really need is a CPU, motherboard, and possibly memory (if current memory is not ddr-3). All this is very easily doable for your price range.

If its not good idea with this money i can get like 700-800$ (200-300 000 huf) by end of summer (if that can buy me skylake :) )

yeah, if its just those 3 parts, really $500 is overkill. this setup could easily last another 3+ years

I seriously doubt you need anything stronger than that for GTX 970

Cut down PSU from my build and you will have it.
Also that Xeon build is quite good as well, a bit slower clock from i5 4790 but you have 8 threads instead.

Edit:
Paying 120$ for 2TB Caviar is plain stupid... i'd rather use 128GB SSD + 1TB combo for quite similar price.

I think you should get a new case as well since your current one is 10 years old. Better airflow, cable management, features, and aesthetics. You will probably want a new one later anyways and it will be a huge hassle to take everything apart and put it back together.

with an intel i5, you can have the 4590k,mobo, 16gb ram for around $400. Leaving you a bunch of money for a case.

that ram may or may not work with it, newer intel processors use lower voltage ddr3 so some motherboards will take it, underclock and undervolt to meet those specs, others will not boot at all. if youd like a new case and want to overclock, this build should leave you enough room to get any case youd like.
