I currently have this system:
Intel Pentium Dual Core E5700
AMD Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5
4GB DDR3 1333 RAM
Gigabyte G41M Mobo
a 5400rpm HDD
& a 900p monitor.

New gen games runs like CRAP in this system! So I'm willing to upgrade to play the new games at a decent fps (30+) and I'm okay with playing games at medium settings.

But I'm not being able to decide if I should get a 4th gen Core i5 with my current HDD or a 4th gen Core i3 with a fast SSD..?
*The gpu will be a GTX 750 Ti & the mobo will be Asrock H81M with 8gb 1600 RAM.
(Don't ask. Budget is very small; I'm a student!)

Solution
That is a tough call.

My first response is get i5 now and SSD latter.

On the other hand though you wont see any benefit in the i5 with a 750 ti, so the i3 will be completely sufficient.

Also you will need to upgrade hard drive anyways because that 5400 rpm is going to slow you down over a 7200 rpm model.

Here is what I would advise: if you plan on staying with the 750 ti for a while go with the i3 + SSD. If you think you will upgrade GPU very soon, go ahead and do i5.
