I recently bought an assembled pc with core i3 4th gen cpu, msi h81m-p33 motherboard. initially the pc had tamcore 4gb*2=8gb of ram in total.

few days later, I got Two pieces of corsair vengenance ram, each of 8gb(total of 16gb), installed them on two pci slots(after removing initially installed tamcore ram's), but showing total of 8gb in basic system information.

The corsair ram is inserted very well(i checked very carefully). i changed pci type to gen2 in bios settings as well. but the problem remains unchanged.

I actually mistaken 2*4gb ram for 8gb(because it was written on the ram). actually the ram is a dual channel ram, so two pieces of 2*4gb written ram equals 8 gb in total.
