Hello guys,

I'm opening this topic because i'd searched a lot, followed many infos, but i'm still confused and stuck.

I have this rig:

-> MB Asus A58M-A
-> AMD A10-7850k
-> TeamGroup Vulcan Gold Ddr3 2133mhz cl10 (2x4gb)
-> PSU CoolerMaster V2 500w
-> WaterCooler CoolerMaster Seidon 120v

(When i get home i can upload the pictures)
After trowing BIOS everything to Default i checked on CPU-z:

-> Processor Running in 3.7ghz,
-> Igp Core 351mhz,
-> Memory DDR3 1600mhz,
-> NB Frequency 200mhz.
-> And the CPU Voltage changing from 1.1v to 1.45v.
-> Temp 30c(This one i checked on Ai Suite)

So i went to the BIOS, changed the memory profile to DOCP and it trowed the DDR3 to 2133mhz, saved, rebooted, tested for some time, and did the Furball Test. Got around 10fps on 1080p and around 750 points

Next on, i ran into bios and made the following:
-> Disabled: AMD POWERNOW, CPB Mode, C6 Mode and APM Master Mode.
-> Changed:
* CPU LOad Line Calibration : Extreme
* CPU CUrrent Capability : 120%
* CPU/NB Load Line Calibration : Extreme
* CPU/NB Current Capability : 120%
* CPU Power Phase Control : Extreme
* CPU Voltage Frequency : 350 khz
* CPU Power Duty Control : TProbe
* NB Frequency 1800Mhz.

It boots normally, but it seems a lot slower. Checked the CPU Voltage on AI Suite and it look like the same. The Temp is also at 30c.
Tryed around the furball test and got 8fps this time on 1080p and about 580 points.

Sooooooo.... Any Tips how may i enchance it's performance for games? I'm really smashing my head now, and i'm pretty new to oc.

Note: Btw i couldn't find anywhere to change igpu core clock, Voltage, etc. Neither could find the vcore of the CPU. And when i try to manually set the target tdp on bios, it let me put 45 and 65 but not 95(that is the default for this CPU). >_<

Thanks in advance for any help.

Ok first off the motherboard you have is an A58M, it will overclock well a little bit, but since it is an A58M not an A88X motherboard, its overclocking potential is not that great with higher voltages.

You should also change these settings to these
* CPU LOad Line Calibration : High (Extreme could potentially kill your cpu for the extra voltage and heat)
* CPU CUrrent Capability : 120% (Set to 100% unless you run into thermal throttling issues or unstable)
* CPU/NB Load Line Calibration : High (same as the other LLC)
* CPU/NB Current Capability : 120% (Set to 100% unless you are unstable)
* CPU Power Phase Control : Extreme
* CPU Voltage Frequency : Auto

Theres one way I found out on how to find the IGP clock speed (I have the same cpu and an ASUS Crossblade Ranger BTW). If your motherboard supports EZ Tuning in BIOS click on it then change your settings to your desired ones and the GPU OC should come up in the Extreme Tweaking Page. If that doesn't work then go into the Advanced tab and make sure the IGP is manually selected and force it.

The TDP option is only if you want to make the cpu run cooler and slower by limiting it, but since you have APM disabled (which tries to maintain the target TDP) it shouldn't matter.

Also to find your vcore you have to set the voltage setting from offset to manual.

Now for the games. If you experience fps drops its probably either your cpu is thermal throttling either because it's too hot or the VRMs aren't cool enough and are overheating. The VRMs being cooled by a heatsink (Usually on a higher end board) is a problem for the lower end boards because if there is nothing to cool the VRMs it would limit your overclock.

One way to monitor cpu throttling is getting the program called HWinfo. It shows you your Current, Min, Max, and Average cpu speed. If you ever see it going down to about 1.700Mhz then it is thermal throttling either because of the VRMs overheating (highly likely) or the cpu not being cooled enough because of a too high of a voltage.

Hope I gave some good tips!
