I am currently trying to build a computer. I have all of my required components and tools (chassie, CPU, GPU, Antistatic wrist band, etc.), but I am at a loss as to where the ideal place is to actually put together the computer. My three choices are as follows: A carpeted indoor room, a indoor room with hard wood floors, and a concrete floored garage. I request an answer to this problem as soon as possible. Thank you.

Solution
You could build in any of the locations.

I prefer the area to be dust free, and not on carpet which can contribute to static buildup.

I would choose the indoor room with hard wood floors of the locations you list.

"indoor room with hard wood floors" is your best choice.

Why? The carpeted room carries a non-zero chance of static electricity, but more importantly, it will be FAR harder to find that tiny screw you just dropped if it is on the carpet.

Just be sure you have plenty of light. A good desk lamp and a flashlight works well for this.
