If your happy to pay the money for it then yes (dont forget you will need a different motherboard too). It depends if the programs you use are multi-core optimised. i.e. Gaming benefits from less faster cores (4790k) and editing is more tailored towards more cores (5820k) but both are overclockable so core speed is sort of irrelevant.
