ASRock Z97 Extreme4 audio not working

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post but my new mobo apparently isn't picking up the integrated sound slots. Plugging into my soundblaster card works but not the mobo itself.

I reinstalled all the mobo drivers but couldn't get it to work. Can anyone help?

Try removing the Creative card and un install the drivers for it and restart. Next install the drivers for the boards audio from here: http://asrock.com/MB/Intel/Z97%20Extreme4/index.us.asp?cat=Download . restart after install. Make sure audio is working. Reinstall teh creative card and drivers then restart.

This should allow the onboard audio to show up in playback devices.

OH after thought here: make sure the onboard audio is enabled in the BIOS. This will also cause it to not show up in the list.

If your looking to use your integrated audio you will need to select it as the default device. To do this Right click on the speaker Icon in your tool try. Then select Play back devices. Right click on the screen, as long as you are not clicking on the default device, and select Show Deactivated devices then select the integrated device and set to default device.

Even after reinstalling the driver, disabling the other sound devices (a monitor and a plasma conected to the GPU), and setting the onboard sound card to "enable" in UEFI, I only got the audio after I sprayed all the jack outputs with a contact cleaner. It seems something (pet hair is my guess) was somewhat short-circuiting one of the sound outputs (I have a 7.1 configuration, plus a headphone in the front output of my pc case). After that, the sound came back in all analog outputs, although I had to reset the CMOS at one of the couple restarts I did to check if all was definitely Ok with my sound setup.
