Hello I was trying to upgrade Windows XP to Windows 8.1 via USB. However when I tried installing it failed to install claiming there were corrupt files. I restarted my PC and XP wouldn't start saying I need to replace a missing or corrupt file. The file was hal.dll and there's no way I could do that, its my only PC. I then reattempted the Windows 8.1 install this time formatting my hard drive. It failed and now I'm stuck with no OS and no way to get one. Please help with possible solutions!
