Unigine Heaven Graphics Card Results

I'm concerned at how staggeringly awful my gpu performed when testing it on Unigine Heaven's benchmarking tool.

My CPU is an i7-3630QM @2.4ghz and my GPU is Geforce GTX 660M, so I understand that my system is aging and that my processor is pretty slow. That said, after several benchmarks my score, when putting all setting on extreme, has been in the poultry region of 235-250, with averaging fps of around 10.

I'm just wondering why this is, since I can play most new games on medium range settings, can play games like Skyrim on ultra without significant fps loss. I'm just concerned since it's the lowest score I've seen anyone get. Any idea why this is?

you could be heat throttling or your gpu could be defaulting to the igpu (HD Graphics 4000) instead of the 660

Skyrim is mainly driven by CPU power. You have a good CPU so that will give you good performance.

I think the GTX 660M Graphics chip is dead-similar to the GT 640 graphics card. Compare scores with that GPU if you can.

It was using the correct gpu I believe, its temps went from 45c to 67c when running Heaven.

Checking MSI Afterburner for my CPU was interesting however, since usage of my CPU 1 skyrocketed from 5-10% to 70-90%, whereas some of the other cores barely changed usage at all.

I'm in the habit of applying thermal paste to my gpu, but I've never done anything to my cpu. Not sure if that's the issue.

73c seemed to be the peak.

I've just done the steps but heaven still seems to run as slow as it did before.

Thanks though, maybe it'll still give me better fps in some games I play.
