Is my PSU broken/faulty/needing replaced?

Hi all, left my PC in to get fixed because I'm not exactly hardware savvy, they said it was the GPU, got it fixed. The problem I was having, and still am, is that my PC shuts down when playing any sort of intensive game, it used to happen after 20 minutes on my old GPU and now it happens every 60 minutes or so on the new GPU; it can't be turned on for a minute or two after it shuts off.. The computer works fine otherwise and doesn't switch off.

So it seems to be it obviously wasn't the GPU that needed replacing.. The only other thing I can think it may be is the PSU.. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. The power supply I have is the TX Series™ TX650 — 80 PLUS® Bronze Certified 650 Watt by Corsair.

This screenshot is from just having Chrome/Steam/Spotify open, using CPUID HWMonitor.

The system fans are spinning.. Can't feel any air coming from the PSU fan, not sure if it's on the back or the bottom but I can't feel any flowing. The back of the case where the PSU is, is warm.. Barely warm but not as cold as the rest of the case.

I've got it downloaded, I think it's on sensor mode as it says 'sensor' in the top left.. how do I turn on logging? I saved monitor data, is that the same thing? :)

Been playing DOTA for about 12 minutes now, max temp has been around 50 - 55.. Still don't feel any air coming from the PSU, I opened the case and felt it and it is pretty warm

Edit: just finished a DOTA game, lasted about 50 minutes.. max temp was 56.

Played two DOTA games, didn't turn off.. I'm thinking it might have been a heating issue.. I went into my BIOS last night after it shut off and turned all my fans up to 'turbo' from 'standard'.. Here are the caps from after each DOTA game, I reset min/max after each game, only thing I noticed going very high was 'utilisations', during the dota games (both around 50-55 mins), temps seems to settle around 49 - 55 degrees.. Though still couldn't feel any air from the PSU fan.

Here are the results.. After using it, it locked up my PC; but that might be to do with the warning? I hit continue rather than disable the sensor.

The +12V, +3.3V and +5V rails all appear within spec but I assume that wasn't tested while gaming.

What happens when you do click on the Disable this sensor button? Are the results any different?

You need to post results after having tested with gaming while HWiNFO is left running in the background.

Recorded a log for around 15 minutes when playing a DOTA bot match there, with the disabled sensor - I think it just doesn't record data for that sector..

Couldn't figure out if I could link files here, so uploaded to here.. (it saved as a spreadsheet, couldn't pastebin it) - http://www.speedyshare.com/qVuPJ/log-during-dota.csv

Your sensor readings look perfect(but can not show ripple if you had any, but it is not a likely cause.).

I still question the power supply getting hot(mostly because you said you did not feel air coming from the back of it?).

Only because you said you had to wait a bit after a shut down(cool down) before it would come back.

No chance you can take the side panel off and look at the fan on the power supply?

It turned off again there now after about an hour of playing a game called Depth.. Case didn't feel too warm overall, but the back where the PSU is was pretty warm.. My PSU is bottom-mounted (not sure if the fan is on the back of it or bottom of it, I think the bottom, but felt no air flow from either side), so I'll have to unscrew it to check the fan tomorrow..

I felt it during game play a couple of times and still couldn't feel anything, sadly.

Thank you for the information.

I did some Googling, found someone else who was having a similar problem.. They said they only felt their fan's airflow on bootup for about 5 seconds and then not when they're playing games. I don't feel air from it even on bootup, I took off the dust filter on the bottom to get as close to it as possible without unscrewing (can't do it yet, need to move stuff around and people are sleeping)..

I've had this PSU three years if that would help diagnose anything.. I'm not sure of the average PSU lifetime.
