I have decided to spend a bit of money on myself and am trying to figure out what I want to do with it. One idea is to get my computer upgraded to better play some of the newer games. I don't play a TON, but enough that I like to keep my computer running well. Below is what I'm running right now.

Motherboard: ASRock z77 extreme4
Processor: i5-3570k
Memory: 8gb Crucial Ballistix
Video Card: Powercolor R9 270x TurboDuo
Hard Drive: Samsung 840 pro 128gb + WD 2TB Blue
Power Supply Corsair TX750

Do you think getting a second 270x and running them in crossfire would be the best bang for the buck or should I wait a while longer and just get a brand new GPU? Is there something else here that should be upgraded before the GPU?

Thanks for any thoughts.

I don't believe the r9 270x is too outdated (could be wrong, Ive only really seen the 290/x) so I would recommend waiting for a new lineup of GPUs.

EDIT: Looking at some reviews of the card, it seems to be older than I originally thought, getting 1080p 30fps of AC:4 Black Flag. I don't believe adding another in crossfire will help it too much, yes you will get a performance increase but certainly not double what you were getting.

It's completely up to you if you want to upgrade, the current go-to bang for your buck card for the past few months (for 1080p 60fps gaming) despite its slight memory issue is the GTX 970 for around $300 USD.
