Hi, last night I upgraded my rig to an AMD R7 260x and upon putting it in my computer and turning it on, even after updating my BIOS to use PCIe as the primary video controller, it wasn't detecting it as my primary display adapter. Instead, "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" is there. I've tried uninstalling drivers, wiping old drivers completely with driver removal software, and updating the driver manually from disk on my computer. I spent the better half of last night trying to figure this out, and it's really bugging me. I'd appreciate any help.
My system specs are:
AMD FX-6300 Six-Core Processor
ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 motherboard
EVGA 600W 80+ Bronze PSU
and of course, the AMD R7 260x
Also running Windows 7 SP1, if that helps. I've seen a lot of people say that if all else fails a full reinstall is probably necessary, which is a pain but.. if that's the only option, then I guess.
Thanks a lot.
