Motherboard: Asus Z87-Pro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Power Supply: Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Solution
No, the computer will start just fine without the BIOS flash, it will just not display anything. If the PC is not even turning on, then you have a different issue. Follow these steps:

*Before using the new Intel 4th Gen Core processors, we suggest that you first download the BIOS updater for new Intel 4th Gen Core Processors and then update the BIOS using this tool.

Might be this ^

The problem is that the motherboard got released earlier than the CPU, thus the motherboard doesn't recognize the CPU. It's compatible but it needs a BIOS update "to get to know" the CPU.

Plus your CPU is not overclockable, you should've bought a motherboard with H97-chipset.

Now to solve your problem there are 2 possibilites:

1. You put in a compatible CPU to be able to start the PC and update the BIOS but I doubt you have such a CPU.

2. You send back the motherboard and buy one with an H97 chipset instead.

Is this really the solution? because on pc part picker it just said to flash the bios according to this - Compatibility Notes

Some Intel Z87 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Haswell Refresh CPUs.

Yes you need to flash the bios, in order to do that you need compatible CPU to boot the motherboard and get into the BIOS.

i flashed the bios already though following the usb flash this guy showed me how to do it heres his response - Plug it into the 2nd USB 3 port under the ethernet port. Press the BIOS_FLBK button for 3 seconds on the motherboard, until a flashing light appears. it's on the bottom

Wait for it to stop flashing. You dont need the CPU for flashback. Thats one good thing about it. JUST the PSU. This has to be connected

Well before you send back the motherboard, I'd check the plugs again and also the frontpanel cables.

And in order to update the BIOS according to the "Compatibility Notes" you need a working compatible CPU to be able to enter the BIOS and update it.

Next time ask someone in this forum if all the parts are compatible, this is a common beginner's mistake. Happened to me once, never again.

Edit: Nevermind, apparently there are also (at least for some motherboards) methods to update the BIOS without a compatible CPU.

Unplug every cable to your computer, including the power cable. Wait about 30 to 60 seconds and then plug in the power cable. Start the computer but do not release the power button. Keep it depressed about 30 seconds and then release it.

oh now do i bread board it to see if the motherboard is shorted? or what do i do now im really worried

First check did you install them. If no take out the motherboard and try bread boarding but I don't like your chances. All the tracks and solder joints on the back of the motherboard most likely were shorted out against the case :??:
