Long story short, my EVGA GTX 560 died. It caused some other problems, which I've fortunately fixed. Right now I'm running on the motherboard GPU.

This is the first time I've had to replace a card over technical issues instead of performance, so I don't really know where to start. It's been awhile since I've looked as my 560 was still going pretty strong, performance wise.

Looking for something in the $200 range. Comparable in size to the 560 as my chassis won't fit something much bigger, if at all.

My PC's specs are:
1080p monitor
Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H motherboard
Intel i5-3450
8 gigs Crucial Ballistix ram
Crucial M4 120gb SSD
"tiny" 500gb Western Digital HD for storage and games I don't care about running on the SSD
PC Power & Cooling Silencer MKII 750w PSU

Edit- I should probably mention this is gaming focused

Both above suggestions are perfect:

MSI R9 380 2GD5T OC Radeon R9 380 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support ATX Video Card
$199.99

MSI GTX 960 GAMING 100ME GeForce GTX 960 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support ATX Video Card

$179.99 after $20.00 rebate card

* Upgrading from 2 GB to 4 GB of VRAM will cost approximately $40 more.
* I have no recommendations about whether these cards will fit your case or not.

How does a GTX 960 4gb compare to a R9 380 4gb?

Newegg has the EVGA GTX 960 4gb FTW for $225 after a rebate. It's 10.1".

Also, can anyone explain just how much of a difference there is in performance between 2gb and 4gb vram?

I think I may have found my card.

Newegg sells the Sapphire Nitro 4gb R9 380 for $220. From what I understand, Sapphire is considered one of AMD's best GPU brands which gives me some peace of mind. And everything I've read shows the 380 out performing the GTX 960. It's also one of shortest lengths of cards I've looked at.

Just have to wait for newegg to get them back in stock.
