recently i bought a single ddr3 1333 4gb.i tried to put the ddr3 on single slot and try to run it. but the monitor still show black screen and no respon from it. is it because the ram is not compatible with my mobo or i have to use 2 ddr3 4gb on both slot? can anyone help me fixing this problem?

Solution
No, the mobo and MC determine how things run(actually you do by what slot(s) you fill. But your mobos chipset will run a single stick in single channel mode i.e. it runs the stick as made as a 64bit device - when two sticks are populated in a dual channel config, the MC 'sees' the sticks as a single 128bit device, hence dual channel

is there any chance that the reason its not responding because i use only one ddr3 slot? because i dont really understand what dual channel is. can i use only one ddr3 stick on a dual channel mobo? or it has to pair with another same ram to make it happen?
