No, that is not what I am saying. Do not jump to conclusions. All I did was provide evidence that while some apps (not games) can show the 6300 and an i5 close in performance, games mostly all show the i5 winning and even the i3 beating the 6300 in many instances.
Here we are looking at price/performance. If this was a build for rendering/encoding, hands down the 6300 would be the way to go as it can compete with the i5 in these apps for much less money. But we are talking about gaming, where the i5 is pretty darn superior. So one needs to decide, if a longer lasting and currently superior CPU is a better idea even though it cost more and might mean waiting and saving a bit more for a GPU to pair it with.
OP, my advice to you is to wait a little and save more money and get both an i5 4460 and an r9 280.
