Xbox One Controller Weird Question

Hey guys just stabbing in the dark on this one.

I recently upgraded my MOBO and CPU (Asus Z97-P and i5 4690k) and reloaded Windows 8.1

When I plugged in my Xbox One Controller directly to the computer it works great.
But when I plug it into my 15 foot USB extender (so I can play games on my couch) it tells me "USB device not recognized"

This worked flawlessly on my AMD MOBO and processor. I have no idea why it's not working now.

Any ideas?

It's funny you mention that, because I've had problems OC my i5 4690k processor and from what I've read it could be a power issue. Basically, I change the CPU to what I want in my motherboard config (4.4 ghz) but it doesn't appear to actually change, I checked CPU-Z and on the system settings and it still says 3.5ghz.

But what's crazy is that I upgraded my Power Supply as well. I was running a 550 watt (crappy stock) power supply. I upgraded to a EVGA SuperNOVA 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified 750W power supply. So why would I be having issues now?

Here's what I had before:
AMD FX 6300
ASRock 970 PRO3
550W Power Supply
Asus Strix GTX 970
16GB DDR3 RAM

Now here's what I have:
ASUS Z97-P
i54690k
750W Power Supply
Asus Strix GTX 970
16GB DDR3 RAM

Not sure why I would be getting less power now? Any help is appreciated!

The motherboard and CPU require/use less power and thus supply less, regardless of your better PSU.

You may want to investigate getting a higher quality USB cable for the controller, as it can transport power farther.

There's many other reasons why an OC won't work, and it can be just the random quality of your CPU. The Intel CPU makes it so it meets the stock quality, but how far any CPU can be overclocked is based on the individual CPU.

Try a safer OC of like 4.0.

And are you sure you're reading CPU-z right?
