Ram Not at Target Speed

I have 2 1600 MHz sticks of RAM installed on my dual channel AMD motherboard. On both speccy and AMD Overdrive, It shows them both running at 800 Mhz. Why is that happening? Thanks!

Depending on the software it will show half the speed because DDR3 runs at double data rate.

CPU-z for instance does this as well.

Off to test speccy and yes, it shows the speeds like that, your memory is running at 1600, so no worries.
