I have a silverstone TS432U (extrenal HDD enclosure) which had some power / connection issues and it ended up making two out of four hard drives installed inaccessible.

When clicked, they both returned the message "The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable."

I ran chkdsk and it returned "cannot recover master file table" in both HDDs.

I googled a bit and downloaded testdisk, followed the instructions on recovering mft from the mirror. Unfortunately the mirrors were corrupt, too.

The testdisk documentation directed me to professional recovery software like ZAR and getdataback. I ran getdataback, which took over 17 hours.

It seemed like it was scanning a lot of files (showing messages like "file found at sector XX XX XX XX") but at the end returned "no filesystem found". Nothing was recovered.

I tried number of other softwares like recuva, and in most cases they weren't even able to access the hard drives.

I am not very tech-savy. It took days of reading forum posts and tutorials, and it has been very frustrating. Is there any way to recover the files on HDDs?

Solution
Try a new enclosure if existing one has been giving you problems. I can't understand why you are still trying to use an enclosure which you said had power/connection issues anyway. Changing the enclosure would have been the first thing I would have done.

I have removed the HDDs from the enclosure. I have a few 3.5 enclosures lying around. Tested on all of them. The problem remains still.
