When I turn on my pc it'll give me about 10mins of time on it then randomly shut off.
It's new and only just recently been assembled.
I know it's not overheating as everything is cool not hot.
My friend said it could be a faulty PSU or PSU cable?

EDIT: Didn't put in my components sorry.
It's got:

AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz Socket AM3 + 16mb cache
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Socket AM3+ 8 Channel HD Audio mATX Motherboard
16GB 1600MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM HyperX Fury Series
Seagate 1TB Barracuda 3.5" SATA-III Hard Drive - 7200RPM 64MB Cache
Xilence (700w) Red Wing Gaming Series Power Supply Unit
Sapphire Radeon R9 280 Dual-X 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Asus Xonar DG 5.1 Surround Sound Card

You know the CPU is cool because you checked the thermal margins with AMD Overdrive and they are in the double digits? Does it shutdown even when the system is left idle for 10 minutes? If so, did it do that when tested outside of the case? I don't necessarily trust your PSU; could you try another one?

Haven't had a chance to look on AMD overdrive because it turns itself off before I can download it.
Yeah it shuts down even when idle. Haven't checked it outside the case yet, can't check another PSU either because I don't have another with me.

It takes usually around the same amount of time though sometimes it takes longer.
