There is a new updated driver for my video card that fails installation on my Windows 7 laptop.
Event viewer shows:

WindowsUpdate_800F001D" "WindowsUpdate_dt000" as the error message.

Event viewer gives Event ID as 1 under critical errors and it says the description for Event ID 1 from source NVStreamSvc can not be found.

The only thing that might gives a clue is the error is "NVStreamSvc failed to kill already streamer".

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver. Now when I try to open the Nvidia control panel from within control panel, I get an error "The NVIDIA Display Panel extension can not be created" and it lists "version conflict" as one of possible reasons.

Any ideas as what to do to get this update installed?

There was nothing wrong with the old driver. I've disabled the new driver update since it kept showing up at my system tray telling me that there is an update available. I retried installing the driver before disabling it and it did the same thing, so I rolled it back. It's working now, but I just don't have the latest driver. And won't know why this is occurring. I guess that's OK too. :)
