Hello guys, i have been having an interesting problem with my psu seasonic x-850.

When i put the pc into sleep or shut down. Sometimes and i have to repeat, sometimes, it does not start even with mouse keyboard or power on button. However after the input when open and close the on/off switch back of the psu real quick, computer powers up with no problem.

I changed almost all the cable i can think of, take the parts of from the motherboard and put them back. I cannot seem to find the problem.

With graphic intense games, or alot of cpu needed work, there is no such problem like shutting down, so i do not think it is a workload problem on psu.

System specs:

asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0
amd fx 8350
asus gtx 970 strix
gskill 4x2 1866
seasonic x-850
samsung 840 250gb ssd + seagate 2tb hdd
corsair air 540 case

Solution
It could be your case power switch. Check the connectors on the motherboard case front panel connector. Make sure the wires are all on properly. Check your motherboard manual for pin outs on the header. You can also try shorting out the header terminals to see if the PC starts up that way without problems.

If still a problem then contact Seasonic with a view to RMA. I'm sure they'll have more checklists.

I first thought it might the power switch or its connectors but i made sure they are all right. On the other hand when pc goes to sleep, since i can wake up by with keyboard or mouse input, it might not be the power switch. and i am very curious because this does not happen always, and when it happens i can solve it by quickly on/off the psu. very curious little problem indeed.

i have bought evga 750w g2 and also remove and install everything on mobo. so it might the psu, also there is a chance that it might be the rams.
