Hello, people. First time building a pc, i wan't a gaming pc that can at least run minecraft perfectly and some other games gta, l4d2 csgo. I posted on here a few days ago about the pc recipe i was going for and did some improvements such as getting an intel motherboard instead of amd ;/ the cpu was still intel. And then i changed my graphics card to gtx 970. I also changed my power supply from 750w to an high end 500w. So i would like to know if or not this recipe is compatible with one another component and if i can make any last minute upgrades. Thank you for reading this, if you have an answer please reply.

Recipe :

Graphic card : MSI GF 970GTX Tiger
Mother board : Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 5
Hard drive : 1 TB Seagate 7200
Case : NZXT H440
Core : Intel i5 4690K 3.5 GHz - 3.9 GHz
RAM : 8GB (2x4GB) Kingston HyperX Predator Beast - DDR3 - 2400MHz
Power supply : Corsair CX500M 500W
Operating system : Windows 8.1 64bit OEM
CPU cooling : Intel 1150/1155

-Best regards

I think its a bit overkill for playing games from 3-6 years ago.. you definitely dont need a GTX 970 for playing minecraft lol. But hey if you're down to pay for it its your choice. Also, I think you should use pcpartpicker for organizing your build. It will give you the merchant with the lowest price of all the parts, and give you notes if all the components work together or not. The build will max out all the games you listed.

Not to burst your bubble, but the Corsair CX series isn't a high end PSU. It's a mid level on a good day. If you stick with Corsair, the TX/HX/AX are the series to buy. If not Antec, Seasonic or XFX are great power supply brands.

Is this build strictly for gaming? Are you wanting to overclock or run multiple graphic cards?

Why does everyone hate on corsair? They have like the best reviews on amazon for power supplies and I personally have been running a 600W Builder for years.

Check out my signature in my post. I'm a Corsair fan. But there is a difference in models. Brand isn't always key. The CX series have cheap internal components (capacitors) which can fail under stressful conditions. I have a TX series running in my old PC for now 6 years. Zero issues. You have to research and understand not all parts are the same.
