Looking for a low to mid cost CPU

I have been trying to run games with a relatively high player count lately, like Battlefield, DayZ, Rust, etc. And it doesn't run as well as i'd like it to.

I have a GTX 750 Ti and an Intel Pentium G2020 2.9GHz Dual Core, and I'm looking to upgrade said Pentium. What should I go for with around a 100$ - 150$ budget?

What motherboard do you have? If you can get an i5 3470 or higher that would be ideal.
Otherwise you will have to compromise with an i3 which isn't bad but it still a dual core.

Download CPU-Z. Open it and go to the Mainboard tab. that will tell you what motherboard you have generally.

As stated before, getting an i5 would be ideal but an i3 is ok. Note that performance with the i3 in very cpu intensive games that favours quad cores will have low performance
