I am new to computer building, and after saving my money for about two years, I think that I'm ready to upgrade from the family Mac to a fully- fledged gaming PC (please take into account that I am only 14). Also, I am a heavy gamer and I expect to be gaming A LOT and playing next-gen titles such as GTA 5, Dying Light and Fallout 4 (when it comes out). I am not looking for ultra in EVERY GAME, but I would like a higher end PC that can handle next-gen titles with decent framerate and graphics. Also, I am looking to overclock, and NOT looking to record/video edit. I've picked out the parts and case but I am open to suggestions. With that said, what do you think of this PC build?

Specs:

CPU-Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
RAM-G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB
GPU-ASUS GeForce GTX 970 4GB
Motherboard-MSI Z97-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
HDD-Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
SSD-Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB
Case-NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower
PSU-EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular

So how long will this PC last? Also, can this run games at an average of 60 FPS at very high, if not high settings? Also, can't make up my mind on a heatsink for overclocking, if I can with this build. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

EVGA 500B is not a good psu to go with.
The EVGA B2 750W would be a better buy after including rebates.

And you don't need a Black WD, the WD Blue is fine.

It's of the same series as the one you suggested, gets close to the same rating at jonnyGuru (8.7 vs 9), and at 40 amps, is easily enough to power the 970, which requires only 28 amps total sys power.

Plus you misread the rebate, the 750w model is $69.99 AFTER deducting it.

"$69.99 after $15.00 rebate card"

And you don't need a Black WD, the WD Blue is fine.

And he doesn't NEED a 970 or 4690, but they're better for a gaming rig than a mediocre alternative. A WD Black costs only $18 more and is faster and more reliable, and has a much longer warranty. A HDD can be a vital gaming component too. It helps if it streams textures fairly fast and can handle a lot of installs and uninstalls and defragging without crapping out.

It's not the same series. B series and B2 series are completely different due to the OEM used.
It's the quality of the psu that is important as well as the amps. EVGA 500B is not a quality psu.
The rating on jonnyguru doesn't mean it is a good psu, it means that it is a good psu for a cheap psu.

NCIX does offer $54.00 after rebates:

The cost for the black still doesn't justify the "very minor" speed bump. Longer warranty is nice but you should always have at least two separate backup of your system anyway. Makes no difference really in warranty. Plus there is a SSD already in the build.

I meant EVGA's Bronze series, which is what the B is for. Newegg lists both those PSUs on the same order page, you merely select which model you want. I also think 8.7 vs 9.0 rating is splitting hairs really. You put a lot of your own words into the interpretation of the review on the 500w model. What they actually said is it's still above average despite the points deducted. I don't recall anywhere their saying it has cheap construction, just moderate range, meaning 2nd tier Japanese vs Chinese caps.

I'd also be skeptical about NCIX beating Newegg on rebates, that may be a typo. Rarely do you see a major brand offering a 35% off rebate on an item, and Newegg usually has equal to or best rebates going.

The most ridiculous thing is preferring a WD Blue over a Black just to save a lousy $18 though. The Blues aren't even that good for generic laptop use. They crash very easily, are noticeably slower, and aren't nearly as reliable.

I've replaced the common Blue models with Blacks for people and they have been WAY happier with the Blacks. It's a no brainer at only $18.

No. I specifically already suggested EVGA B2 750W. After you mentioned the EVGA 500B, I said it was not a good quality psu to go with.
Reason:

The B series and B2 series are separate series even if they are both bronze.

You the one who decided to only use Newegg price when I already stated NCIX.
You are welcome to your views of NCIX but the rebate is not a typo. This is their official rebate list:
It states $30 off:

WD Blues are not really meant for laptops anyway. They need some airflow as you increase the chance of failure which would be the same with black but they just have a higher tolerance. Under normal conditions and usage, they don't fail till they reach their lifespan. For gaming, a blue is sufficient enough. Speed difference is mostly unnoticeable in the real world.

I really don't care that you suggested the 750w model first, it has nothing to do with whether it's from the same series or not. They're all a form of B series PSUs, get over it. Plus it's way more power than is needed for one 970.

And you're really clueless about WD Blue. They are one of the most commonly used HDDs for laptops, because laptops are commonly speced with lower end parts to hit a price point.

And the speed on the HDDs can make a noticeable difference in not just texture streaming and level loading in gaming, but general use in everything from installing and uninstalling large file programs like games, to file transfers, to defragging, and page file, esp if you make a partition for one on the edge of the platter. I get 180Mb/s speed on the platter edge of my WD Blacks. There's no way you're going to get anywhere near that on a Blue, and it makes a difference.

I find it odd you think he needs to waste at least $20 on a PSU he doesn't need, yet think it's fine to use a mediocre HDD.

As for the rebate, you've only read what it says on their site, doesn't mean it isn't a mistake. I find it odd on the 500w model I mentioned, they offer the same exact price Newegg does after rebate. It doesn't make sense.

So you would say the Corsair RM and RMi are the same series since they have both RM when they are not the same series. It doesn't matter if it is overkill for a gTX 970. What matters is the quality of the psu chosen. The B2 750W is better than the EVGA 500B. You won't find another quality 750W psu at that price point anywhere else.
The PSU is the only unit that power everything . Get a bad quality psu and you can fry all your hardware. For a 14 year old, I guessing he doesn't want to risk that chance with his new hardware. The B series is only good for office pcs. The B2 series are created by Superflower where they are the top quality PSU manufacturers.
You are entitled to find it odd with the pricing but NCIX offers a lower price than Newegg after rebates and promo codes.
NCIXUS: $34.99
Newegg : $39.99

If you get the WD Blue that is aimed for desktop so the 7200RPM 64MB then the main difference between the black is just the warranty.
Blue can just as well reach 180Mb/s

Like I said the "speed" difference between a desktop WB blue and black is very minor in the real world.
