Hello, I was wondering if someone with gaming experience could help me out here. I've been reading the gaming desktop reviews, and I don't need a massive $6,000 desktop, so I settled with the CyberPowerPC Trinity Xtreme. I'm a moderate-to-low gamer who appreciates great graphics and awesome speed, with this in mind, could you tell me if these specs would suffice? (Take note that I'm a noob, so if I write out the name of something super long, sorry for being annoying haha) --

CPU:

  • Intel Core i7 - 5930K Six Core 3.50 GHz 15MB Intel Smart Cache, +$204 to base price
(base CPU: IntelCore i7-5820K SixCore 3.30 GHz...)

RAM:

  • 16GB DDR4 / 2400 MHz Quad Channel by Corsair.
Also available: Corsair Vengeance, G Skill Ripjaws 4, Adata Xpg Z1. Which should I pick, if there is a difference?

Video Card:

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB GDDR5
Available: ^ 980 (+$249, which is as high as I can afford sort of..) there is also an EVGA FTW Edition (and Superclocked) ACX 2.0 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 ACX 2.0 4GB GDDR5, as well as MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4G 4GB GDDR5 which all range from +$20 to +$40, so whatever you think suits.

Hard Drive:

  • 512GB ADATA SP900 SSD + 2TB SATA III Hard Drive Combo (+$103 to price)
Base drive: 256GB SANDISK SSD + 2TB SATA III Hard Drive Combo
I know little to nothing about SSDs, does the 256 pose any difference to the 512?
    * There is also an option for a "secondary hard drive." Should I opt for the base (256) and get another 256 as a second option?

That is about it. Thank you so much if you help !!

Building your own really isn't hard, and you'll save a lot (usually several hundred dollars) of cash. And tend to get something that's better quality.

If you're mainly using it to game, there's little reason to get more than an i5-4690K. LGA2011 is a waste of cash that would be better used for a faster GPU or nicer display.
