After boot windows starts to load, you see thewindows logo, then screen changes to xp background(same as desktop background) but No desktop comes up and there is no response to any commands(ie., Ctrl+alt+del, winds logo+ L, ....etc.). Tried resetting monitor to factory defaults, autoconfiguring monitor, rebooting with last known configuration, booting in safe mode, and still i get the xp screen just about 10-15 seconds after windows starts loading. Everything was working fine two days ago. I did the usual clean up of deleting browser history, cache, and cookies and did file clean up then shut it down for the night. Next day turned it on and this is how it was.
Please help! Need computer for legal research.
