I have a Asus P8Z77-V Pro motherboard and it has 2 Intel SATA III 6.0gb/s connections and 2 Asmedia SATA III 6.0gb/s connections, along with 4 slower 2.0gb/s connections. I just purchased a Samsung EVO 850 250GB SSD and I was wondering if I should be using the Intel or the Asmedia connections on the motherboard to connect the SSD? Once I install the SSD where should I connect my current Western Digital Black 1TB? I'm guessing if I would just place it on slot #2 and the SSD on slot #1, but I'm not sure if there is a better setup for this motherboard. Maybe one a the Asmedia and the other on the Intel? Anyways if someone could shed some insight into this I would greatly appreciate it. Also, why it would be better to use, say Asmedia over the Intel connectors on the motherboard. Thanks in advance guys. :)

Solution
Definitely want to use the Intel headers as i7baby has indicated. Only use the ASmedia headers for optical and backup drives if you can help it. If you encounter any issues with drives that are connected to the ASmedia headers, you'll know why. Sometimes they work fine, other times they're crap.

Connect the SSD to the first Intel header, whether it's 0 or 1, and the storage drive to the other.
